who may not have a high grade point
average. This scholarship is named in
honor of Nick Teramani, a member of the
founding Prospect Heights Dollars for
Scholars Board of Directors. This
scholarship was established in 2000.
Scholarships
are awarded based upon a rubric which
considers both financial need and academic
merit. Scholarship winners are selected by
an independent committee composed of
representatives from our community. The
Prospect Heights Dollars for Scholars Board
of Directors is not involved in the
selection of scholarship winners.
Accordingly, a separate committee comprised
of educators and professionals select the
successful recipients. Scholarship awards
are presented at a scholarship reception
honoring winners and their parents or
guardians.
We partner with four local high schools to
promote our scholarship program to their
students, including Wheeling High School,
John Hersey High School, Buffalo Grove High
School, and St. Viator High School.
